The first pair of tights for ladies and children in the post-war era was produced in 1948-49. The "inventor" of this very useful piece of clothing was Grete Knabe from the town Unterrot. The tights were manufactured by the company "Gräfin" in Ellwangen, which went bankrupt after only one year. Ms. Knabe's attempts to find another manufacturer failed - it was not until 10 years later that German hosiery manufacturers "re-discovered" this piece of clothing that today is an integral part of lady's and children's wear.

After the production of "Boyenne" tights discontinued, they were used by Ms. Knabe for carnival costumes, among other things, 1954.
